Job Summary

FiftyForward has an excellent opportunity for a Program Manager.  This is a full-time position with regular weekday hours, Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm with the ability to work early morning, evenings and weekends on occasion.

In this role, you will provide leadership in all aspects of member service for Knowles Center members and participant service for FiftyForward Adult Day Services with a focus on planning, implementing, and evaluating programs and activities that are educational, social, and recreational, and encourage total health, well-being, and community involvement.  The Program Manager ensures programmatic compliance with licensing and grantor requirements, oversees instructors and volunteers, maintains the center databases, and ensures provision of high-quality, dynamic programming for older adults of varying activity levels and cognitive function.

Job Responsibilities

What you’ll do:

  • Initiate, promotes implement, and evaluate FiftyForward Friends Adult Day Services and Knowles Center activities, including blended programming opportunities, to offer highest-quality service to members, participants, and caregivers. Ensure necessary supplies and equipment are in place to accomplish activities.
  • Communicate consistently with and collaborate closely with program staff and supervisor to provide updates on all aspects of the Knowles Center and FiftyForward Friends Adult Day Services
  • programs and to continuously improve and expand the availability of services. Assure services are dynamic, based on best practices, meet customer expectations, and maintain a high level of satisfaction.
  • Adhere to all FiftyForward Friends Adult Day Services licensing requirements with primary responsibility for participant and programming requirements.
  • Ensure that FiftyForward Friends Adult Days Services participant records comply with agency and funding source requirements. Maintain current documentation through paper files and the Penelope database.
  • When FiftyForward Friends Adult Day Services Director is not present on site, the Program Manager will act as Assistant Director and ensure that all licensing regulations are followed. Provide coverage at the program and is in ratio as needed.
  • Implement individual treatment plans for each FiftyForward Friends Adult Day Services participant through planned activities.
  • Set up rooms for programs and activities, assist in keeping the Knowles Center neat and orderly, assist with keeping displays for programs and bulletin boards current.
  • Devote approximately 10% of time to community outreach to plan and offer offsite activities and events to engage older adults.
  • Prepare and maintains monthly calendars and newsletters. Coordinate with other staff and volunteers in implementing the activity calendars. Promote events and activities.
  • Actively recruit and screen outside instructors and group facilitators. Utilize and contribute to FiftyForward centralized programming database to identify programming options.
  • Welcome new members and participants and promote membership and participation across programs.
  • Work closely with the Knowles Advisory Council Membership and Program Committees in identifying new program opportunities.
  • Prepare and submit in a timely manner, accurate monthly, quarterly and annual reports on activities, programs, the number of persons served, number of members, units and types of service provided and progress toward meeting annual goals and objectives. Update, on a weekly basis or more frequently, membership and activity data in My Senior Center (MSC) and Membership Works (MW); including new and renewal members, events, GNRC reports, and member lists; assist with any other special reports.
  • Drive or coordinate driving of agency vehicles including a 15-passenger bus and 11 passenger van for day trips and follows all agency vehicle rules and protocols.
  • Work closely with Director in executing overall FiftyForward, center and program goals.
  • Maintain an active corps of volunteers who are selected, trained and recognized in compliance with agency policies and procedures.
  • Attend staff meetings and other meetings as required.
  • Supervise student interns.
  • Adhere to the NASW Code of Ethics
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field from an accredited college or university.  Master’s in social work or related social services field preferred.
  • 1 – 3 years’ professional experience working with older adults, experience with older adults with cognitive impairment and/or dementia preferred.
  • 1 – 3 years’ experience in program planning, marketing, promotion, and/or recruitment.
  • 1 – 3 years’ experience working in a customer/client focused environment.  Program management experience and knowledge of community social services agencies preferred.
  • Experience using desktop and/or laptop computer, MS Office 365, multi-user copier/scanner, and multi-line telecommunications system.
  • Must be First-Aid/CPR and ServSafe-certified or willing to obtain certification. Maintain knowledge of AED (defibrillator).
  • Ability to bend, stoop, push, pull, stand for long periods, lift, and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • A valid TN driver’s license and appropriate automobile insurance.
