Job Title:  Program Manager

Location: Greater Nashville area, working remotely

Reports to:  Acting Executive Director/ Board President

FLSA Status:  Non-exempt, hourly. Full Time (40 hours/week)

 

Girls on the Run of Middle Tennessee is a local nonprofit organization that operates in agreement with Girls on the Run International (GOTRI) and is dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running. Our program currently serves Davidson, Williamson, Sumner, Rutherford and Montgomery counties.  In our most recent fall season, we served 12 sites, and 149 participants who were mentored by 39 coaches.  We strive to increase these numbers annually.

Job Responsibilities

Consistent with the mission of Girls on the Run, the Program Manager of GOTR Middle Tennessee is responsible for the overall management of the GOTR programming and 5Ks. The Program Manager is responsible for managing all Girls on the Run programs (Girls on the Run, Heart and Sole and Camp GOTR) and volunteers. Some of the key responsibilities falling within these areas include:

 

Program Outreach and Site Management

  • Implement the Girls on the Run strategic program plan and achieve program goals with respect to number of girls, number of sites and program accessibility
  • Market Girls on the Run programs to potential new sites
  • Work with community leaders, schools and other groups to maximize program participation
  • Coordinate all new and existing sites
  • Enforce all site policies and procedures; generate innovation and improvement as needed
  • Set up and manage program events, site and coach recruitment pages on our website
  • Ensure the timely and accurate collection of data; oversee the information management of rosters, participants, program statistics and program revenue
  • Oversee and manage all participant financial assistance policies and procedures
  • Responsible for ordering managing and distributing all curriculum materials to coaches and program participants

 

Coach Management and Training

  • Ensure all program sites are staffed with qualified volunteer coaches
  • Manage all aspects of coach training, including Girls on the Run training, CPR & First Aid, and background checks
  • Work with sites to develop effective coach recruitment and retention strategies
  • Oversee and support the needs of all coach volunteers
  • Enforce all current coaching policies and procedures and generate continuous improvement

 

5k Planning and Execution

  • Assist the 5K and Programming Committee as they plan and execute the fall and spring end of season 5K event

Qualifications

  • Education or work experience in youth development and/or nonprofits
  • Experience in recruiting, supporting and managing volunteers
  • A sales and customer service-oriented mindset; motivated by achieving targeted goals and fulfilling objectives
  • Passion for the Girls on the Run mission centric work and alignment with Girls on the Run core values
  • Readiness to embrace the complex work of inclusion, diversity, equity, and access
  • A willingness to take on a hands-on role in program execution and administratiion
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and make efficient decisions
  • Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Compelled to find effective ways to communicate with various audiences
  • Regular access to a reliable vehicle and ability to travel locally
