Job Summary

FiftyForward is the leading resource for adults 50+ in Middle Tennessee who seek to live longer, more fulfilling lives.  We are the premier provider of innovative programs and services for older adults and their families through a powerful leadership team of staff, volunteers, and community partners touching the lives of more than 20,000 individuals annually.  Through seven locations and a variety of programs in Davidson and Williamson counties, we provide enrichment opportunities for adults 50 and older to remain engaged and living their lives to the fullest. 

In this role, you will partner with the Center Director assisting with the overall operation of the FiftyForward Bordeaux Center, providing highest quality programs, activities, workshops, and events for older adults.  The ideal candidate will have a passion for service to older adults.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan, offer and lead exciting and engaging programs, courses, workshops, outings and events for the older adult members of the FiftyForward Bordeaux Center.
  • Work closely with Center Director in planning and executing overall Center goals and plans.
  • Coordinate, support, organize and promote programs to our center members via a variety of platforms, including information boards, social media, and email and phone outreach
  • Maintain an active corps of trained center volunteers.
  • Recruit, interview, engage, and evaluate instructors, group facilitators, and presenters to lead engaging and enriching center programming
  • Prepare and maintain the center’s monthly activity/event calendar and newsletter.
  • Schedule and/or drive center vehicles as needed for daily programs and special events.


  • Associates degree or two years of college courses focusing on social services, recreation, or similar field.  
  • Experience working with active older adults and volunteers is a plus.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Must be First-Aid/CPR and ServSafe-certified or able to obtain certification.
  • A valid TN driver’s license including a good motor vehicle record, and appropriate automobile insurance.
  • Promote and uphold FiftyForward’s mission of supporting, championing, and enhancing life for those 50 and older.
  • Effective and professional communication (verbal/written) and presentation skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, MS Office including Publisher.
  • Comfort working with Zoom and provide audio-visual support.
  • Experience with social media to promote programming and center member recruitment.
  • Proficient in time management, organization, and problem-solving.
  • Open to constructive feedback, and creative dialogue with FiftyForward Management Team.
  • Proven ability to be flexible and work cooperatively with a wide range of constituents and stakeholders.
