Job Summary
The West End UMC Preschool is dedicated to providing high quality early childhood education. We have a 3-star rated license by the state and are also accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Serving children from six weeks through five years of age, the Preschool’s mission is to develop within each child a vibrant mind, a healthy body and a caring heart while building a collaborative, supportive community among our families.
We are seeking dependable individuals to work and support our Preschool in the absence of the classroom teacher(s) for all age groups served. This may include serving as a floater to cover breaks for multiple classrooms. Duties include the care and supervision of children within the classroom, hallways, play-gardens, and throughout the building. Teachers must remain actively engaged with children throughout the day. All WEUMC and DHS rules must be followed to ensure the safety and care of the children.
Our Preschool hours are Monday-Friday 7am-5:30pm; however, our director will work with candidates based on their availability. We particularly could use help during the middle of the day for lunch breaks, and in the late afternoon (3:00-5:30).

Job Responsibilities
Duties include covering breaks, supervising children, remaining attentive at all times, engaging with children.
Qualifications

- Degree in early childhood education is preferred, but not required. Current college students are encouraged to apply.
- Experience working with children.
- Reliable transportation to the Preschool.
