Job Summary

This is a temporary grant position with the Nashville Public Library’s Digital Inclusion team and consists of teaching (virtual and/or live) digital literacy classes for seniors.  Positions are part-time and should last through the end of the year.  Teaching materials provided.

Job Responsibilities

Seniors in this NPL program have been provided a laptop and need instructions on the basics of using the laptop as well as:

  • How to connect to Wi-Fi,
  • How to use Zoom,
  • Internet and Internet Safety,
  • Email and
  • Telehealth applications

Qualifications

  • Some college or professional training a plus, but not required
  • Tech Savvy Retired Teacher a plus
  • Valid Tennessee driver’s license
  • Experience using computers, especially laptops.
  • Experience using MS Windows 10 and MS Office products
  • Knowledge of popular email applications
  • Understanding of Internet Privacy and Safety issues.
  • Knowledge of current technologies with a willingness to learn
  • Commitment to working with senior learners, specifically those with low digital literacy skills
  • Teaching & public speaking experience helpful, Patience a must
