Job Summary
This is a temporary grant position with the Nashville Public Library’s Digital Inclusion team and consists of teaching (virtual and/or live) digital literacy classes for seniors. Positions are part-time and should last through the end of the year. Teaching materials provided.
Job Responsibilities
Seniors in this NPL program have been provided a laptop and need instructions on the basics of using the laptop as well as:
- How to connect to Wi-Fi,
- How to use Zoom,
- Internet and Internet Safety,
- Email and
- Telehealth applications
Qualifications
- Some college or professional training a plus, but not required
- Tech Savvy Retired Teacher a plus
- Valid Tennessee driver’s license
- Experience using computers, especially laptops.
- Experience using MS Windows 10 and MS Office products
- Knowledge of popular email applications
- Understanding of Internet Privacy and Safety issues.
- Knowledge of current technologies with a willingness to learn
- Commitment to working with senior learners, specifically those with low digital literacy skills
- Teaching & public speaking experience helpful, Patience a must
