FiftyForward seeks candidates for part-time position of Outreach Coordinator in its All of Us research program.
Would you like to be involved in one of the most ambitious health research programs in national history? FiftyForward partners with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) All of Us research program to improve health and save lives through precision medicine. The program is creating the world’s largest and most diverse health database to be used to speed up health research discoveries and enabled new kinds of individualized health care.
As the FiftyForward All of Us outreach coordinator, you would join one of the most well established and respected non-profits in Nashville. Founded in 1956, FiftyForward is a leading resource for adults 50+ in Middle Tennessee who seek to live longer, more fulfilling lives. We are the premier provider of innovative programs and services for older adults and their families through a powerful leadership team of staff, volunteers and community partners.
Job Responsibilities
FiftyForward is one of dozens of All of Us research program partners across the U. S. who recruit and educate volunteers to participate in the nationwide research project. The outreach coordinator books outreach activities/events/speaking engagements as well as recruits and trains volunteers to carry out the empowerment focused outreach, education and enrollment of Tennessee older adults electing to participate in the All of Us project. Focusing on older adults, the outreach coordinator demonstrates an interest in and sensitivity to older adults as well as a basic knowledge of precision medicine and an understanding and passion for its value in the future of medicine.
Other important information you should know:
- Position is part-time, 20 hours a week which must be worked during regular office hours (M-F, 8:30-5:00 pm)
- Must be willing to occasionally work in the evenings or on weekends
- Must maintain reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and liability insurance
- Occasional travel in Middle Tennessee required
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
- a passion for serving people; demonstrated commitment to the mission, values and goals of FiftyForward
- associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- a minimum of one year’s experience in administrative type duties
- a minimum of one year’s experience successfully working with older adults
- excellent communication and technology skills necessary to successfully educate and facilitate enrollment of volunteers
- strong organizational kills necessary to track volunteer hours, maintain equipment needs and supplies, schedule and prepare venues, maintain project data and produce reports on program success metrics
- proficiency using all Microsoft office programs, including Microsoft 365, Word and Excel to be used for email, reporting and the creation of monthly e-newsletter
- ability to successfully engage using social media, Zoom, Constant Contact and other online engagement tools
