Operations Coordinator Position Summary

The Operations Coordinator will play an integral role in coordinating and assisting in a variety of operational systems that ensure a smooth workflow and bolster TIRRC’s mission. With TIRRC’s move to a new stand-alone building in 2021, the Operations Coordinator will oversee the facilities, equipment, and inventory to ensure the building is well maintained and successfully supports staff, volunteers, members, and event participants using the space.

Job Responsibilities

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Facilities Management

  • Manage the logistics and building needs in TIRRC’s new headquarters in partnership with the Operations Director;
  • Be proficient in all building systems, including but not limited to alarms and doors, fire alarm, sprinklers, printers, HVAC, lift, soccer field, playground, and community garden;
  • Liaise with all building vendors; 
  • Oversee team of facilities contractors including but not limited to IT, security, cleaning facilities, landscaping, and maintenance;
  • Maintain relationships with groups using outdoor spaces at the building;

Event Logistics Support

  • Operational support for all internal & external TIRRC events including but not limited to board meetings, staff retreats, Annual Membership Convention, and the InterNashional Food Crawl;
  • Liaise with event vendors in partnership with Development team; 
  • Support Development team in use of the event center; 

Equipment and Inventory Management

  • Responsible for fixing, maintaining, and/or replacing all TIRRC equipment, including staff laptops, office printer, leased car, speakers, speaker phones, video cameras, and more;
  • Maintain building inventory for overall facilities needs;
  • Development and maintenance of robust storage and rental system for all equipment; 

Operations Team Support

  • Help manage confidential personnel files and systems;
  • Assist the Operations Director with staff happiness program; 
  • Other Operations and Finance duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Belief in TIRRC’s mission and the power of community organizing and commitment to dismantling systems of oppression;
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with diverse communities; 
  • Minimum 2 years experience with internal organizational operations;
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Experience with building facilities and safety preferred;
  • Fluency in English required, fluency in an additional language preferred;
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some nights and weekends;
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Benefits

This is a full-time exempt salaried position based in Nashville and would report directly to the Operations Director.

Starting Salary: $40,000
