Job Summary

S-Anon International Family Groups, Inc. is a Twelve Step program of recovery for individuals who have been affected by someone else’s sex addiction or compulsive sexual behavior and is based on the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous.

S-Anon International Family Groups, Inc., is looking for a highly-motivated, flexible, and dedicated Office Assistant beginning September 2022. This position is 20 hours a week during operating hours, Monday through Friday, 10am to 2pm CST, onsite at 640 Spence Lane Ste. 124, Nashville, TN 37217.

Job Responsibilities

The Office Assistant plays a vital role in the daily operations of the S-Anon organization, and is involved in a variety of key tasks that connect newcomers and members with recovery groups, literature, and volunteers, ensuring the organization is fulfilling its responsibilities to S-Anon groups worldwide.

Much of the work associated with this position is administrative in nature and relates to handling phone calls and emails, packing and shipping literature orders, maintaining accurate S-Anon Group records across various platforms, and providing clerical support to the Executive Director and S-Anon Board of Trustees.

As the individual who typically serves as the first contact for newcomers, the Office Assistant confidentially, sensitively, and professionally helps connect inquirers with groups and support as they begin their recovery journey. For member, group, and service structure communications, the Office Assistant, after gaining experience and training, displays a working knowledge and understanding of the S-Anon/S-Ateen Service Manual and develops the ability to direct and reference this manual when necessary. 

Qualifications

  • Excellent computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Interpersonal and professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Ability to learn new computer-based applications
  • Ability to lift boxes between 20 and 40 lbs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree a plus
  • Personal experience in a Twelve-Step program is preferred but not required

Benefits

  • 20 hours a week, Monday through Friday, 10am to 2pm CST
  • $17/hour, eligible for PTO after 3 months of employment
