Job Summary
The Nashville Promise Zone (NPZ) VISTA Communications Coordinator will build the capacity of the NPZ through communications and sharing the story. This VISTA will raise awareness and support of the NPZ by developing, implementing, and evaluating a public relations media plan, content for NPZ workgroup committees, and overall communication as approved by MDHA communication guidelines on an ongoing basis. In collaboration with the MDHA Communications team, this VISTA will support NPZ communications such as website or webpage, posters, flyers, press releases, articles, newsletter content, community success stories; letters to the editor; interview; and social media as approved by MDHA’s communication team.
Job Responsibilities
NPZ VISTA members will work as a collective with local nonprofits and community organizations to address poverty in the Nashville Promise Zone by building the capacity of its residents by addressing the goals of the NPZ: Increase access to quality affordable housing; Create jobs and increase economic activity; Improve educational opportunities and reduce violent crime, and improve community infrastructure. The Nashville Promise Zone VISTA Communications Coordinator will raise awareness and support of the NPZ by developing, implementing, and evaluating a public relations media plan, content for NPZ workgroup committees, and overall communication as approved by MDHA communication guidelines on an ongoing basis. In collaboration with the MDHA Communications team, support NPZ communications such as website or webpage, posters, flyers, press releases, articles, newsletter content, community success stories; letters to the editor, and social media posts.

Qualifications
Background in communications/media relations
Experience writing content for various platforms
Graphic design experience a plus
