About Rural Health Association of Tennessee: RHA is a 501(c)3 non-profit with the mission to lead the way for a healthy Tennessee through partnerships, advocacy, education, and resources. As a member-driven organization, the goal of the association is to serve as a trusted resource to our members, partners, and the public so that together we may tackle Tennessee’s toughest public health issues.
Position Overview: The Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for building relationships with social care providers and community-based organizations (CBOs) by listening to their needs, offering technical assistance and training, and helping to build a regional care coordination system. The position works closely with RHA’s preferred Care Coordination partner (find help), members, and RHA staff. The position supervisor is the Membership Director.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Establish and grow deep, sustainable relationships with RHA members and CBOs in assigned regional areas, with the goal of increasing nonprofit usage of Findhelp tools.
- Educate and equip key contacts to support community engagement, including managing partner communications, working collaboratively with Findhelp staff, and sharing best practices.
- Train RHA Members and other CBOS on how to use Findhelp’s suite of tools to streamline their work, connect to each other, and support a shared population.
- Led the discovery of various CBO workflows and roadblocks in conjunction with Findhelp’s team.
- Advocate for the ongoing needs of members and partners through gathering feedback and understanding of community needs, challenges, and proposed solutions.
- Support organizations with technical assistance needs, responding in a timely manner, and working cross functionally to implement solutions.
- Become a Mental Health First-Aid Instructor certified to provide a value-add to members and community partners.
- Work independently, traveling throughout designated service areas and providing services in various locations as needed.
- Handle confidential personal information in accordance with RHA policies and funder requirements.
- Work cross-functionally with other RHA staff to support all programs and organizational goals as identified by the RHA strategic plan and contracts.
- Maintain a deep understanding of all programs and opportunities to share and promote.
- Prepare monthly reports that capture the number of partner meetings, training, technical assistance services provided, and other outcomes relevant to the project.
- Prepare monthly expense and personal activity reports.
- Maintain compliance status with relevant state and federal agencies.
- Attend relevant meetings and professional development workshops.
- Assist with other projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school degree with 6 years of experience training and/or teaching, or Bachelors with 3-5 years of relevant experience; willingness to complete additional training.
- Proven record of teaching technical information in a clinical and/or nonprofit setting.
- Active listener and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstration of excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem-solving, communication (verbal and written), and project management skills required.
- Proficient in using technology including Microsoft Suite (outlook, excel, teams), Asana (or similar task management software)
- Experience working with a high-performing and collaborative team.
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to improving health among rural and other minority populations.
- Flexible with the ability to manage multiple projects.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with “closed-loop referral systems”
- Certificate in Community Health Worker
- Experience making cold calls
- Experience working with nonprofit organizations.
Additional Information:
- The position is full-time, exempt with general operating hours 8:00 – 4:00 pm. Option to move start and end times up or back one hour.
- This is a hybrid position with approximately 50% time spent in either the Decaturville or Tullahoma office and 50% remote
- Travel will be required up to 30% within Middle Tennessee counties (including Davidson). This will occasionally include overnight stays, including but not limited to the week of RHA’s annual conference in November, quarterly all-staff meetings, and/or partner meetings.
