Job Summary
The Girl Scouts of Middle TN is looking for a Seasonal Membership Specialist who will assist with developing, retaining, and increasing girl and adult membership in assigned geographic areas. Job assignment will be approximately 6 week assignment 22 hours per week. Must have reliable transportation, be able to work flexible hours and pass a background check. Job Responsibilities
Assists Regional Executive in providing support for girl and adult membership recruitment and retention in an assigned geographic area. Duties include, but are not limited to:
o cultivating membership opportunities in new areas
o contacting schools to setup girl talks and family interest nights
o organizing materials for recruitment and assisting in delivery to schools
o identifying and recruiting girl and adult members/volunteers
o visiting schools in geographic area to perform girl talks and family interest nights
o assisting in follow up with families who attend family interest nights
o assisting in follow up with potential volunteers to complete necessary training
• Works closely with Regional Executive to develop and implement a membership plan that ensures a diverse membership and council goals are met.
• Performs work duties and responsibilities with an attitude that reflects the council’s commitment to quality and to serving the needs of girls and volunteers
Qualifications
High school diploma
• Belief in the purpose, values and mission of Girl Scouts of the USA and Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee
• Girl Scout experience highly desirable, but not required.
• Experience in volunteer recruitment
• Experience with public speaking
• Sales and marketing experience
• Flexible team player with strong organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal skills
• Ability to motivate and work with volunteers cooperatively and effectively
• Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule, including some evening and weekend work.
• Valid Tennessee driver’s license and insurance along with dependable transportation
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
