Job Summary
Membership specialists play a critical role in supporting all aspects of the recruiting and on-boarding process of girls and adult volunteers. Key member of the membership team which provides a high level of service to their regional members throughout the year and develops and maintains strong outreach and programs.
Assigned area: Rutherford, Bedford, Cannon, Coffee, Franklin, Lincoln, Marshall, Moore, and Warren Counties
Job Responsibilities
• Assists Regional Executive in providing support for girl and adult membership recruitment and retention in an assigned geographic area. Duties include, but are not limited to:
o Visits schools in assigned geographic area to perform recruitment assemblies and family interest nights
o Processes registrations, supply requests, and uniform orders
o Contacts schools to setup recruitment assemblies and family interest nights
o Organizes materials for recruitment and assisting in delivery to schools
o Identifies and recruits girl and adult members/volunteers
o Assists in follow up with families who attend family interest nights
o Assists in follow-up with potential volunteers to complete necessary training
• Cultivates membership opportunities in new areas.
• Works closely with Regional Executive to develop and implement a membership plan that ensures a diverse membership and council goals are met.
• Performs work duties and responsibilities with an attitude that reflects the council’s commitment to quality and serving the needs of the organization’s members.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Computer and Microsoft Office software proficiency required.
• Excellent human relations, verbal and written communication skills, motivational and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to encourage consensus and teamwork.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of staff and volunteers.
• Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
• Possess a professional attitude and strong work ethic with exceptional customer service skills.
• Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule including some evening and weekend work and be willing to travel within an assigned territory.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check including a motor vehicle report.
• Strong belief in the mission of Girl Scouts and the ability to convey its importance to the public.
• Maintains effective teamwork through training, great communication and support.
• Organized, independent thinker and self-starter.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Current valid drivers’ license, proof of vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation.
