Job Summary

HEALING HOUSING is seeking a compassionate, seasoned Marketing Specialist to oversee the organization’s branding and messaging strategy. Reporting to the Executive Director and in collaboration with the marketing and development teams, the Marketing Specialist will create and execute mission-driven plans to support the organization’s growth, fundraising objectives, and increase awareness of the program’s services and impact. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a trauma-informed recovery or behavioral healthcare environment and the ability to write mission-centered, concise and compelling content.

HEALING HOUSING’s mission is to shelter and love women healing from addiction. We are a nonprofit residential recovery program serving women with limited financial resources throughout Middle Tennessee. 


Job Responsibilities

  • Develops focused mission-aligned marketing initiatives and consistent messaging in conjunction with the Executive Director and development team to support the organization’s goals and needsOversees creative design, strategy, and implementation of marketing assets such as brochures, email newsletters, letterhead, and end of year solicitation campaign deliverables
  • Creates and leads adherence to marketing timeline for all initiatives including events and social media content calendar
  • Directs upcoming 2022 website redesign working closely with contracted designer
  • Works closely with Development team to create the program, theme and messaging for live and virtual fundraising and educational events 
  • Directs video shoot, production and editing for fundraising events and other organization needs 
  • Periodically audits materials and content for relevancy and effectiveness
  • Hands-on development of engaging content (e.g. original text, photos, videos and news) to grow followers through social media platforms
  • Prepares and delivers slide show presentations and messaging for speaking engagements by the Executive Director and other key organization representatives  
  • Increases web traffic and brand awareness through the marketing of content online ensuring all digital platforms have one cohesive look and message
  • Creates graphics and images as well as having basic video editing skills to bring content to life
  • Launches optimized online advertising when needed through Google Adwords, Facebook, Instagram ,etc. to increase awareness.


  • 5+ years of nonprofit marketing/communications experience 
  • Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills
  • Experience developing and implementing successful communications and marketing strategies with measurable impact
  • Skilled In: Digital marketing strategy, content creation, SEO content Management (keywords, etc.), social media copywriting
  • Technical Skills:  MailChimp, Google Analytics, Paid Social, Wix, Basic Graphic Design (Adobe or Canva)
  • Proactive, positive, mature, and collaborative personality
  • The ability to work on multiple projects at once
  • Experience with video and graphic content design, production and storytelling
  • Self-starter, able to work independently, while maintaining consistent communication of tasks and follow-through with Healing Housing team
  • Ability to analyze the return on investment of campaigns 
  • Experience with Facebook Business Manager
