THA (Tennessee  Hospital Association) is a not-for-profit membership association, to serve as an advocate for hospitals, health systems, and other healthcare organizations and the patients they serve. The Association also provides education and information for its members and informs the public about hospitals and healthcare issues at the state and national levels.


As a wholly-owned subsidiary of THA, THA Center for Innovative Solutions (TCIS) seeks to provide THA member hospitals with programs and partners that deliver high clinical, financial, and operational value. To deliver these programs effectively, TCIS identifies and partners with industry leading companies. Relying on member input and industry trends, TCIS seeks to equip Tennessee hospitals with innovative solutions that address their most critical challenges.



Responsible for coordinating TCIS marketing activities that promote and build awareness for our partner solutions, leading to partner meetings and engagement with hospital executives.

Job Responsibilities



    1. Assists and supports the Director of Marketing with overall brand strategy, marketing plans, and marketing projects.
    2. Assists with development of content, including writing marketing copy and creating graphics for email, social, website, and print.
    3. Creates, builds, and distributes email campaigns using Emma.
    4. Coordinates the day-to-day content planning, scheduling, real-time monitoring, and engagement for TCIS social media on LinkedIn, Facebook, and YouTube.
    5. Publishes blogs, videos, and social posts to TCIS website and social channels.
    6. Maintains marketing schedules and calendars to plan and coordinate marketing activities.
    7. Maintains and updates the TCIS website in WordPress.
    8. Assists with printing and mailing marketing materials.
    9. Monitors and evaluates email campaigns and social media results in coordination with department goals and benchmarks.
    10. Maintains and updates repository of all partner marketing material.
    11. Tracks marketing expenses, gathers invoices and receipts, and prepares expense reports.

Business Development

    1. Assists the VP of Business Development and other TCIS staff with various administrative functions as needed.
    2. Performs sales support communications and follow up as needed.


    1. Participates in TCIS strategic planning process to develop mission, vision, strategic goals, measures of success, key actions, performance targets, and work plans.
    2. Pulls information and contact lists from the THA CRM database and provides info for updating the database. Maintains additional contact lists, as needed.
    3. Maintains and updates tracking in CRM for sales opportunities, tasks, results, and vendors.


    1. The ability to adapt to a changing work environment and meet challenges presented throughout the day.
    2. Must be available in the office during regular office hours, unless job responsibilities require otherwise, or hybrid work arrangement is in place.
    3. Runs webinars and virtual meetings. Coordinates logistics and provides technical/platform support during meetings.
    4. Represents our TCIS partners in a professional manner while interacting with THA members and hospital C-suite executives.
    5. Corresponds regularly by phone and email with TCIS partner contacts.
    6. Responds to THA member requests and questions regarding TCIS and our partners.
    7. Must be available for out-of-town travel approximately five workdays per year, including overnight, be able to drive an automobile, and maintain a valid driver’s license.
    8. Completes other duties as assigned.



  1. Schedules appointments, meetings, and room reservations.
  2. Assists the VP of Business Development and Director of Marketing to provide routine support to designated affiliate groups.
  3. Assists other departments with special events when needed.


ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:  (Positions reporting directly to this position.)



Educational and experience Requirements Needed to Perform the Duties of the Job:

Requires either:

  • an associate’s degree and at least three years of experience in a similar position or
  • a bachelor’s degree

Experience in marketing and communications preferred.

Previous hospital or medical experience preferred.


Skills Required to Perform the Duties of the Job:

  1. Must have strong interpersonal skills and be comfortable in social settings with people that are minimally known.
  2. Excellent written communications skills, including grammar, spelling, punctuation, proofreading, etc.
  3. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with others via phone and in person.
  4. Exceptional organization and management skills are critical.
  5. Interpretive skills to take ideas from concept to implementation and operations.
  6. Must be able to take general directions and translate that into productive work.
  7. Ability to work with minimal supervision and within a team.
  8. Ability to carry out multiple projects concurrently.
  9. Must be highly skilled and experienced in Microsoft Office computer programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  10. General knowledge of WordPress CMS platform and familiarity with website design.
  11. Broad experience with social media platforms, such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.
  12. Working knowledge of Emma, Hootsuite, Canva, and/or other social media and marketing tools preferred.
