Job Summary

The Nashville Business Incubation Center (NBIC) is a nonprofit organization that cultivates the growth and development of small business owners, with a focus on women, minorities, and veterans, through 360-degree business support, knowledgeable mentors, and a results-driven curriculum.

The Marketing Coordinator will assist with the implementation of a strategic approach to NBIC’s marketing and outreach that provides promotion of our services including training, coaching, and mentoring programs and events to entrepreneurs with the main responsibility for coordinating marketing planning, development, execution and tracking.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Enthusiasm for NBIC’s mission and the nonprofit sector, curiosity, and a growth mindset, with a demonstrated celebration of and commitment to inclusivity, diversity, equity, and accessibility.
  • A strong communicator with a can-do, positive attitude and a strong desire to get things done.
  • Solid digital marketing experience, including the ability to coordinate the details of simultaneous projects involving multiple internal and external people, and keep things on schedule with on-time delivery.

This role reports to the Director of Finance and Operation and may coordinate with several others both internal and external to NBIC including but not limited to program manager, website developer, marketing partners, junior board members, volunteers, community partners, etc. Participate in team coordination of events and fundraisers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Marketing – Ensure NBIC’s marketing efforts help us achieve our immediate and long-term business goals following the organization’s brand guide. Provide marketing support for a wide range of client and industry activities including programs, fundraising, grants, sponsorships, workshops, and other events. Brainstorm marketing ideas. Assist the Communications Manager in planning monthly marketing strategy. Assist in the design and production of materials to support and advance NBIC programming. Complete execution of our social media, emails, newsletter, blog, and coordinate approved updates to website with developer. Communicate campaign deliverables, objectives and timelines.
  • Content – Write Program information to support marketing and coordinate promotions with marketing personnel and partners including story-telling needs. Create stories of entrepreneurs in NBIC’s programs showing impact, lessons learned or light bulb moments resulting from services received at NBIC.  Serves as key proofreader on all marketing materials.
  • Creative Design/Images – Import and post photos, ads, and designs to channels. Collect, name and store assets like company logos, headshots, and photos and follow the naming conventions and storage organization processes. Coordinate photo/video shoots.
  • Social Media – Manage NBIC’s social media accounts. Post and engage with our audiences in a timely and professional manner and answer questions. NBIC is currently active on: Facebook, Facebook Community (specific to NBIC), Instagram,, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
  • Partners – Support organization needs by providing communications for community partners, fundraising sources, and grant reporting as related to Programs. Meet with community stakeholders as requested.
  • Contribute to the overall success of NBIC by performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in social media management and event management.
  • A Bachelor’s degree or demonstrated work experience in business, communications, or another relevant field.
