Job Summary

The Refuge Center for Counseling’s mission is to offer affordable, professional counseling services in order to empower, educate and support individuals, couples and families in need.

Purpose of the Position: The Marketing and Digital Communication Assistant will work as a key member of The Refuge Center’s Marketing/Development team to assist with marketing and communication objectives for the organization. This person will be creating and promoting the messaging and brand of the organization across all segments and channels in line with our values, in order to fulfill our mission and vision. Help deliver maximum revenue and ROI with support to the marketing and development team.

Job Responsibilities

Specific Duties


  • Events
    • Creating all digital and print promotional materials
  • Design Impact Report
  • Design Year-End Mailing
  • Donor Appeals
    • ​​​​​​​Create content for specific campaigns
    • Follow-up with reporting and donors


  • Design promotional Materials for Clinician Trainings, Groups/Intensives, Clinical Educational Video series, Collaterals and Compassionate Care programs.

Digital Communications

  • Manage Social Media Channels
  • Newsletter
  • Donor/Campaign Emails
  • Update and Maintain Website
  • Manage contact lists in CRM



Critical Qualities

  • A passion for our mission to offer high quality professional counseling services to everyone, no matter income level.
  • Understanding of the importance of mental health, therapy, counseling and the confidential nature of our work.
  • Strong graphic design skills.
  • Creative type, can create high quality content using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite platforms for social media/web/print.
  • Can be flexible and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced changing work environment.

  • Experience and ease with Windows systems and software
