NAMI Tennessee What started as a small group of families gathered around a kitchen table in 1979 has blossomed into the nation’s leading voice on mental health. NAMI Tennessee is one of 50 State Organizations of NAMI, The National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.
NAMI Tennessee is a recently realigned organization serving the state of Tennessee and our 18 local NAMI Affiliates. Together with new leadership and an inspired staff and volunteer leadership, we are poised for community expansion.
Position Description NAMI Tennessee is seeking an organized, creative and motivated professional to be responsible for Management of NAMI Tennessee Programs in the Hendersonville, TN office.
The Manager, Programs will provide oversight for NAMI Tennessee signature programs. The individual will follow national protocols and leadership training to become proficient as a NAMI Program Coordinator.
The Manager, Programs, is responsible for two primary functions: Program Management & Oversight and Affiliate & Coordinator Support to ensure the successful implementation of NAMI Tennessee’s statewide programs.

Non-profit leadership experience
Recruitment & Support
Marketing, Community Outreach, & Public Relations
Robust work ethic with a sense of passion and urgency regarding bettering systems and outcomes for those affected by mental illness
Willingness to learn in areas in which prior knowledge may not exist
Strong sense of integrity and leadership
Familiarity with mental illness as a professional, caregiver, or individual living with a mental health condition
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively
Ability to collaborate with staff and community partners
Proficiency in working with Microsoft and Google platforms and tools
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
Community outreach
Mental Health Advocacy Work
Management experience
