Job Summary

The Manager of Corporate Relations is responsible and accountable in developing and maintining the strategies, planning, implementation and management of TPAC Corporate Partners Program under $49,999, which includes sponsorship, underwriting opportunities, and the corporate membership society, Business Leaders for the Arts. Additionally, increase TPAC corporate support base and build a pipeline of $49,999 under partners by meeting and/or exceeding annual goals established by the Senior Director of Leadership Giving, Vice President of Development, and approved by the TPAC Board of Directors.

Job Responsibilities

1.  Establish annual plan and strategies to build and grow TPAC’s Corporate Partner Program

2.  Identify, qualify, cultivate, and steward corporate partners $49,999 and below

3.  Understand and operate under TPAC’s Case for Support

4. Willing to act as an ambassador to the community and ensure that the seamless fulfillment of corporate giving support under $49,999 is achieved

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Manager of Corporate Relations is responsible and accountable for securing philanthropic support from corporate partners according to these primary duties:

  1. Responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding corporate partners under the $49,999 level
  2. Manage a portfolio of 75 current and prospective corporate partners, with contact and close rates tracked and reviewed 
  3. Track and assess fundraising progress in Tessitura. Establish metrics both on a short-term basis (e.g. 60-, 90-, 180-day analysis) and long-term perspective along with Senior Director of Leadership Giving
  4. Spend approximately 50% of work hours in the field as an active, front-line fundraiser
  5. Work closely with the Senior Director of Leadership Giving to create strategies to build, deepen and grow meaningful corporate partnerships
  6. Regularly report to Senior Director of Leadership Giving on corporate prospect leads and relationship progress
  7. Create an active pipeline of corporate prospects through research, relationship building, identification, and tracking of sponsor and donor activity under the $49,999 level
  8. Actively engage in community networking events and engagements to meet and build relationships with prospective corporate partners
  9. Manage, promote, recruit, and successfully execute TPAC’s corporate membership society, Business Leaders for the Arts
  10. Collaborate with the Special Events Manager to help plan and execute corporate partner event engagements and Business Partner Roundtable events
  11. Manage corporate giving strategies with creative, thoughtful approaches to attract corporate support under the $49,999 level.
  12. Work closely with the with Director of Grants to maximize targeting efforts and cultivation of corporate donors and prospects $49,999 and below.
  13. Prepare tailored partnership materials and deliver presentations to corporate prospects
  14. Negotiate agreements and their timely renewals; ensure all fiduciary responsibilities and requirements, such as invoices, are tracked, completed, and received
  15. Coordinate and confirm all partnership fulfillment requirements (including regulation of all marketing materials) as well as monitor each agreement for any necessary adjustments to ensure timely execution of promised deliverables by communicating to appropriate team members
  16. Work closely with Manager of Development Information to maintain accurate sponsor and donor information in Tessitura database; document and disseminate all signed agreements and relevant materials to appropriate staff and departments
  17. Work in concert with development department and TPAC team to support the production of TPAC Gala and any additional fundraising/cultivation endeavors as assigned

OTHER:

   Budget

Work with the Senior Director of Leadership Giving and Development team to create an accurate annual budget/goals for corporate giving and TPAC Gala

  1. Maintain/oversee areas of budget oversight in a fiscally responsible manner
    • Manage process and monitor status
    • Monitor revenue activity through appropriate reports
    • Monitor expenses through purchase orders, payroll approvals, and thorough review of financials received from TPAC Business Office
  2. Supportive of a positive work environment that contributes to a culture of philanthropy

The above listed duties are not all inclusive.  This position is expected to perform other work related duties as assigned even though they may not be considered primary duties.

Qualifications

Experience Required

Bachelor of arts or sciences degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four‑year college or university with five (5) years experience in corporate relations preferred

Skills and Knowledge Required

  1. Excellent leadership skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team setting
  2. Self-motiviated individual with strong administrative, planning, and organizational skills
  3. Established network of corporate and community relationships
  4. Possess an accurate knowledge and awareness on the business climate of Nashville and surrounding communities
  5. Proven record of successfully securing corporate gifts of five-figures
  6. Display the maturity, professionalism, discretion, integrity, high-energy, and cultural sensitivity needed to work effectively in a high profile arts institution
  7. Ability to pivot and act quickly in a fluid environment
  8. Superb oral and superlative written communication skills
  9. Comfortable serving as an ambassador for Tennessee Performing Arts Center
  10. Outgoing, people-oriented person with outstanding interpersonal skills
  11. Proficient in Microsoft Office products, especially Word and Excel
  12. Ability to work event evenings and weekends as needed
