The position reports to the Director of Collaborative Initiatives and is accountable for the engagement, progress, and effectiveness of the Alignment Teams, associated projects and their collaborative efforts. This position will collaborate on a daily basis with colleagues and external partners and is expected to be efficient, responsive, and motivated.

Job Responsibilities

Primary duties include:

  • Manage and facilitate work of city-wide Alignment Teams (A-Teams) composed of representatives of the public schools, non-profit community-based organizations, government agencies, and colleges and universities based on established Alignment Nashville (AN) processes and protocols.
    • Communicate regularly with the A-Team co-chairs
    • Attend and facilitate A-Team meetings
    • Assist in development of A-Team implementation plans, assessment plans, and continuous improvement plans
    • Work with the A-Teams to engage the community in collaborative projects using AN processes
    • Maintain management plans (timelines, milestones, etc.) for A-Team work
    • Ensure active and on-going participation of A-Team members; solicits recommendations for new members; and assists in the succession process of A-Team co-chairs
    • Collaborate with Director of Collaborative Initiatives and other Alignment Nashville staff
    • Maintain timely and accurate reporting on attendance, progress, and associated data
  • Manage and facilitate collaborative and initiative-based projects
    • Serve as liaison and primary point of contact with key stakeholders
    • Maintain regular communication with all partners and stakeholders involved in the project and monitor progress
    • Facilitate meetings and responsible for meeting milestones, deadlines, etc.
    • Responsible for drafting proposals, agreements, and assisting in determining scope of work
    • Maintain timely and accurate reporting on attendance, progress, and associated data
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Essential skills necessary:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communications, organizational, and planning skills
  • Ability to effectively utilize e-mail and all general office software and conduct information research
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Self-motivated and initiative driven
  • Highly effective written communication

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, and coordination (minimum of 2 years)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite and collaborative tools (google docs, google sheets, zoom, etc. )
  • Group facilitation experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with/in nonprofit programs
  • Experience with volunteer management and /or recruitment
  • Facilitation certification
  • Familiarity with project management principles and/or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)

Environmental Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts requiring normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms; use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls and observance of fire regulations.
  • Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there is some walking, standing, bending and carrying of light items. Also, the employee must have manual dexterity, visual and auditory acuity.
  • Some repetitive motion is involved.
