Job Summary

The Manager, Family Engagement is integral in helping TFC pursue our mission of breaking multigenerational cycles of child abuse, neglect, and trauma through a forward thinking approach to our program delivery and its impact on our community’s families, specifically: connecting families to TFC programs (groups, seminars, or in home; in person or virtually) that best meet their needs: engaging them in the mission on a broader level (volunteerism, peer support, etc); and connecting with them to ensure needs are met through community partners and other providers when families are facing challenges related to more basic needs. This includes embracing curiosity as a means to learn and grow personally and professionally, greeting challenges with flexibility and a collaborative approach, and pursuing excellence in work products and community presence.

Job Responsibilities

  • provide a basic “strength-based case management” approach for clients with multiple barriers (identifying basic needs (housing; food; substance abuse, health, mental health supports; childcare; etc that may interfere with effective ongoing implementation of TFC’s learning criteria)
  • co-manage TFC’s program database (Saleforce), ensuring data is accurate and updated regularly
  • offer basic crisis intervention skills when dealing with unexpected situations as they arise
  • communicate directly with parents or caregivers interested in program participation, identifying the best fit for their individual or family needs and coordinating enrollment
  • identify and nurture relationships with potential program referral sources, ensuring necessary information about client specific, program specific, or TFC general information is communicated on a timely basis
  • oversee client follow-up schedule ensuring regularly connecting with past clients (30, 60, 90 days and beyond) to maintain connectivity
  • serve as the liaison between referral sources and TFC clients
  • create and maintain program schedules (in print and online)
  • liaise with parents to help identify ways to further engage them in the mission (stories, volunteerism, etc)
  • working with the Director, Family Programs, assist in identifying and coordinating (as needed) translators for groups and seminars
  • identifying opportunities for and integrating volunteers as needed and appropriate in fulfilling position responsibilities and timelines
  • assist in (with development/marketing) TFC’s participation in area festivals and fairs, helping coordinate and staff events (staff or volunteers)
  • participate in staff, program related, and managers’ meetings as required
  • participate in professional development opportunities as required by TFC’s licensure or to further professional goals
  • be open to stepping in and up to meet other organizational needs determined by either the Director, Family Programs, Sr. Director, Program Strategy & Impact, or the CEO
  • positively interact with staff across all departments, being a team playing regardless of specific organizational role

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field; 3 yrs experience in a related field
  • innovator, self-initiator, fast learner, team player 
  • highly developed interpersonal skills, affinity for networking, and high level of confidence 
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • ability to effectively contribute to staff meetings
  • proficiency in MS Office Suite; utilization of or ability to learn SalesForce 
  • confidence and competence in learning and using existing and new technologies
  • ability to effectively interact, communicate, and collaborate with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • excellent organizational and project management skills
  • capable of meeting challenging deadlines while “herding cats”
  • must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
  • openness to a work culture that is very fast paced and growing rapidly across Middle TN
  • This is a full-time exempt position that requires evening and weekend commitments throughout the year.  Local travel is required. Salary and benefits are commensurate with experience and organizational budget.
