Job Summary

Position Summary:  The Manager, Community Impact provides leadership for United Way by building relationships, bridges and identifying gaps to support the UWGN Community Impact work necessary to alleviate poverty and improve Health and Well-Being in Robertson County. This position will identify health and human service needs across education, financial stability and health and manage the grant allocation processes for Robertson County with a local committee of volunteers.

Account Management Tasks:

  • Builds relationships with cross-sector leaders including public, private and nonprofit entities that have the potential to advance United Ways mission and expand its reach and impact.
  • Represent United Way at relevant community events and meetings to increase United Way’s presence in the community and position United Way as a leader in the health and human services field.
  • Stay abreast of community needs, gaps and opportunities to inform priorities for investment and provide support to the county.
  • Manage the Community Impact grant allocation processes for Robertson County.  Responsibilities include:
    • Leading the grant application and review process for nonprofit applicants.
    • Recruiting and managing volunteer teams to assist in the grant application and review process.
    • Facilitating meetings with volunteers and nonprofit agencies.
    • Managing the volunteer Community Impact Committee
    • Facilitating agency funding notifications, contracting and reporting.
    • Participation in strategy and planning of the Community Impact Funding and Request for Proposal process.
    • Providing eCImpact technical assistance to partners.
    • Communicating process outcomes and progress to supervisor.
  • Regularly engage and manage the Community Impact Committee that will serve as the volunteer review committee for local investments in Robertson County. This includes educating the committee on UWGN work, goals, mission and visions.
  • Support Workplace Engagement and Marketing to promote results and increase donor interest in United Way work, volunteer opportunities and investment.
    • Participate in corporate campaign events to educate donors on community needs and what United Way is doing to address those needs.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Experience:
    • Experience with nonprofits is desirable
    • Three or more years experience in the nonprofit or social services sector
  • Skills:
    • Demonstrated leadership in strategic planning, development and implementation
    • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Written, verbal, and technological communication
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office products

Environmental Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. The employee is required to stand, walk, climb and balance.
  • Employee will be responsible for covering both Robertson and Cheatham Counties, therefore reliable transportation is required.
  • Employee will also spend time seated; working at a desk in front of a computer monitor, requiring manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers.
  • Employee will be provided a well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
