Job Summary

Consistent with the Christian mission of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee, and in cooperation with other YMCA staff, under the direction of the Director of IT Infrastructure Services, The System Administrator I is responsible for administration, configuration and support of software systems and processes as necessary to support association operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Model YMCA core values: caring, honesty, respect and responsibility
  • Select, install, configure, maintain and inventory all computer system software and hardware components for all locations in the Association including coordination of third party vendors as necessary
  • Support virtual server and virtual desktop infrastructure
  • Maintain and support MS Office Suite of Tools (including Office 365)
  • Help maintain systems operations including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, email, etc.
  • Responsible for implementing system management and operational best practices which include but are not limited to backup/restore operations, patch management procedures, disaster recovery strategies, network antivirus and malware protection systems
  • Support a wide range of Association, Center Operations and Information Technology projects as directed by the Director of IT Infrastructure Services
  • Provide second level, end user support to Help Desk
  • Provides after hours including weekend support as a member of the ITS On Call Rotation Support Team
  • Serve as an active and contributing member of the staff team of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee

  • Must present a professional image and possess conflict resolution skills, and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative
  • Must be highly organized with the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks and multiple deadlines
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Four year college degree in CS, CIS or comparable experience (5 years)
  • Minimum 3 years experience (w/degree)
  • Experience in Windows, Apple, and Linux operating systems
  • Knowledge of one or more system scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, Perl, Python, etc.)
  • Demonstrable experience, knowledge of VMWare, XenDesktop, Sophos, Exchange, and SCCM
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience with programming
  • Proficiency with general office software applications and equipment is required

Certifications Required:

  • Before start of 1st shift: New Hire Orientation training
