Job Summary

Objectives:
The Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Culture at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center is excited to announce and launch, “Coming to the Stage,” TPAC’s paid internship program. Coming to the Stage seeks to engage local diverse and dynamic students with an opportunity to experience, learn, and immerse themselves in performing arts center management through an internship experience.
TPAC is seeking dynamic and diverse Individuals who are looking for a unique experience, who are interested and eager to learn what it means to have in a career at a performing arts center. All majors are encouraged to apply. However, applicants should have knowledge and experience applicable to the area in which they are seeking an internship.
Internships can range from 8-16 weeks with interns working 10 to 20 hours per week.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities will be largely determined by the department for which the candidate is interning. However, the experience will follow a cohort model, and interns will have learning experiences and workshops with the Director of Learning and Development. Interns will be provided workshops on various topics which include, but are not limited to: workplace etiquette; diversity, inclusion, access & equity in the workplace; professional best practices; and general professional development.
Qualifications
Individuals who are interested and eager to learn what it means to have in a career at a performing arts center.
Individuals that are a part of underrepresented identities within performing arts administration and staffing.
All majors are encouraged to apply.
Candidates should have applicable knowledge and experience in the area they are seeking an internship.
Candidates should be rising juniors, rising seniors, or graduate students.
Candidates should be in good standing (academic and conduct) with their institution.
