Job Summary

The Intake Specialist is the first point of contact for customers at The Store. This role involves welcoming and checking in customers, managing communications, and providing support for various administrative and event-related tasks.

Job Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Process new intake applications and referrals for The Store.
  • Answer and respond to phone calls, including general inquiries and intake requests.
  • Welcome and check-in customers during shopping hours.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of customer, family, and staff information at all times.
  • Perform general office duties such as data entry, report generation, and mail merges.
  • Manage and retrieve data to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Support program staff by coordinating with clinics, providers, and community resources as needed.
  • Assist with translation for Spanish-speaking customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in data management.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Previous professional or volunteer experience in a nonprofit organization or an administrative role.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, sit, type, and view a computer screen for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Benefits

Hourly, $20-$23/hour depending on experience.
