Job Summary

The Store is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit retail store that offers a variety of foods that will help individuals strive for healthier lives through food choices while protecting the dignity of the individual. To support the efforts of the continued and extended services of The Store in partnership with Belmont University’s Family Wellbeing Program, The Store seeks to hire a qualified part-time intake specialist. The intake specialist under the direction of Program Directors Brittany Tolbert and Jasmine Ledsinger responds to inquiries and intake calls, and assists with administrative duties. The Intake Specialist supports the admission of customers, communication with external partners and internal staff, data entry, and documentation. 

This position is a part-time position, 25-30 hours per week, with a maximum pay range of $30,000 in the first year of employment. This is a grant-funded position for a period of two years.

 A typical work week may look like: Tuesday: 9-12 Wednesday: 9-2, Thursday: 8-5, Friday: 8-5; rotation of one Saturday (10-3) a month. There may be some flexibility to have work-from-home options, up to once a week. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Process new intake applications for The Store.
  • Answer and respond to calls including inquiries and intake.
  • Maintain customer, family, and staff confidentiality.
  • File, fax, log and maintain data in an accurate and readily accessible fashion.
  • Enter data, manipulate, and retrieve data in a proper reporting structure.
  • Route paperwork appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist with administrative duties as assigned by Program Directors.
  • Assist Case Manager with clerical duties and referrals/connections with appropriate clinics, providers, and community resources as needed.
  • Other duties may also be assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand; walk on uneven surfaces; sit; handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must be able to lift up to 30 pounds. The employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level is usually minimal to moderate.

Qualifications

  • The Intake Specialist will be committed to The Store’s mission and upholding the integrity of the organization. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong computer, written, and verbal communication skills.
