Position
In accordance with the Explore! Community School mission and values, the Instructional Coach is a master teacher with broad knowledge and deep experience in quality instruction and progressive classroom culture as well as a sense of urgency around student achievement results and a commitment to our Core Values. As a member of the instructional leadership team, s/he will work closely with the principal and assistant principal to implement and contribute to the continual improvement of Explore’s model of progressive teaching and learning.

Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Develop and support teachers in implementing Responsive Classroom and developing well-managed classroom cultures that are respectful, focused, and aligned with Explore’s Core Values
- Use student achievement data and student work to drive instructional improvement and decisions to help teachers achieve learning goals
- Develop teachers through collaborative coaching with a focus on planning, in-class modeling, and
- Collaborate with team members in student supports, interventionists, social-emotional supports, and culture to ensure that teachers are integrating student academic and social-emotional supports into their instruction
- Support the school to ensure effective implementation of logistics necessary for running a well-functioning school, such as scheduling, test administration, learning exhibitions, and other events that impact teaching and learning
- Design and facilitate professional development sessions during summer in-service, Friday teacher development time, and staff planning days
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Commitment to Explore! Community Schools mission, values, and educational model
- Bachelor’s required, Master’s Degree preferred
- Demonstrated success in delivering quality instruction and developing a strong, positive classroom culture
- Possess skills with data analysis and intentionally responds to data in order to drive student results
- Strong content knowledge and knowledge of pedagogical approaches used in Project Based and/or experiential Learning
- Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with colleagues while holding them accountable for results
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Possess an active State of TN Teaching Certification
- Maintain emotional constancy in high stress situations
- Eagerness to initiate new projects, take on additional responsibilities, and learn new skills
- Additional skills that enhance staff and students’ academic experience (e.g. multi-lingual, musician, carpentry, knock-knock jokes, etc.) highly sought
