Job Summary

The House Manager is a full-time position managed and administered by Community Care Fellowship.  This position supports center residents after hours and during weekends. The House Manager is also responsible for ensuring the security of the center and its residents.  All liability and protocol will be assumed and established by Community Care Fellowship.  The House Manager will monitor individuals coming in and out of the property to ensure no unauthorized individuals enter the property unless accompanied by a resident and that residents do not have overnight guests or hang out with guests in the parking lot.

Job Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

           

  1. Resident & Visitors Relationships:

A.   Willing to form relationships with residents and be available to them in times of need while setting strong boundaries

B.   Monitor individuals coming in and out of the property and ensuring the property is a safe environment for all residents

C.  Carry out hourly fire walk and tracking on the Fire Walk Log

D,  Check on residents throughout the night and ensure the building is secure

E.   Ensure no unauthorized individuals enter the property and residents do not have overnight guests.

F.  Ensure residents are not loitering or meeting with guests in the parking lot

G,  Enforce 10:00pm lights out policy

H.  Communicate with CCF staff and call the authorities if deemed necessary

I.    Follow up with residents regarding information, documents, forms, etc including those daytime staff were unable to speak to them about

  1. Resident Complaints
    1. If a resident files a complaint about another resident, ensure that the accused tenant is following the terms of the General Shared Space Guidelines Contract and negotiate an amicable outcome to the disagreement. If unable, communicate with CCF staff to determine steps for a resolution. House manager will also do the same for complaints not involving another resident.
    2. If there are complaints regarding maintenance issues within a tenant’s room, works to resolve the issue and ensures those issues are communicated with CCF staff

  1. Coordinate Tenant Turnover:
    1. Communicate with CCF when a resident is repeatedly violating the terms of the General Shared Space Guidelines Contract
    2. When a resident moves out, check the room for damages, organize cleaning, and fix any damages before new residents move in

  1. Managing Resources:
    1. Distribute meals and restock food shelf as needed and advise daytime staff of any items that need to be replenished
    2. Distribute toiletries and household items as needed and advise daytime staff of any items that need to be replenished

  1. Property & Facilities Maintenance:
    1. Ensure that the facility is fully operational and all utilities functional
    2. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, and assist with energy management
    3. Ensure columbarium is kept neat and resident rooms are presentable

Qualifications

NECESSARY SKILLS         

• Ability to think fast on your feet, problem solve, and deescalate

• Customer service soft skills: listening, oral and nonverbal communication, critical thinking, flexible, problem-solving, mentoring, motivating, patience, respectful, dedicated, timely, organized

• Willing to be trained in CPR and Narcan use

• Ability to use the following equipment: personal computer and Microsoft Office Suite, copier, printer, scanner, and fax

• Physical requirements:  Stands or is on feet for extended periods of time and able to lift 40 lbs 

EDUCATIONAL, PROFESSIONAL, & BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS
• High school diploma strongly preferred
• Minimum of one-year related experience in a social service setting strongly preferred

• Security experience a plus
• All candidates must pass a mandatory background check
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff
