Job Summary

Tennessee Charitable Care Network (TCCN) is Tennessee’s network of non-profit clinics and programs providing free or reduced cost health care services to those in need. We exist to support the work of our members through education, advocacy, funding, and networking.

The Grants Manager is responsible for managing grants performance and compliance and to seek new funding opportunities. This position will start at 25 hrs/wk with the possibility of becoming full time. The Grants Manager will report to the Executive Director and will work remotely in TN.

Job Responsibilities

  • Proactively collaborate with staff and members to bridge the needs of free and charitable programs with the needs of grantors for mutual success.
  • Ensure overall success with assigned grants in terms of performance, monitoring, compliance, and reporting. Effectively communicate expectations of members in grant engagement, including but not limited to, defining performance objectives; designing and delivering grant training sessions; securing and organizing grant contracts and other critical grant documents; creating and disseminating reporting templates; and reviewing periodic reporting for compliance and accuracy.
  • Active monitoring of grantee performance and compliance to ensure that grant-specific requirements are met.
  • Identify funding opportunities, including federal, state, and private grants, to meet organizational needs, research feasibility, eligibility, and benefit.
  • Take a lead role in the collaborative development of grant proposals and other funding requests.
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation and materials for site visits and/or audits from state or federal funders and other grant funding agencies.
  • Provide status reports to management on grant performance, progress, and objectives.
  • Provide project management regarding new funding opportunities; organize materials, draft timelines, manage deadlines, and provide support to staff as they write and submit grants and contracts.
  • Optimize the grant administration process, policies, and procedures to mitigate risk, ensure compliance and achieve success with achieving grant objectives with input from TCCN Board and staff, grantors, and auditors.
  • Assist the Senior Director of Operations in developing and managing budgets that meet grants management needs, including monitoring funded projects to prevent over-expenditure of funds, ineligible expenditures, and ensure awards are fully expended.
  • Assist with development and innovation for future grant program initiatives, as applicable.
  • Provide support to TCCN staff and members and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with two years of program or grant management.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret federal or state regulatory grant language.
  • Familiarity working in healthcare environment preferred.
  • Nonprofit experience a plus.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid computer skills, extensive knowledge of MS Office.
  • Knowledge of data analysis and updating database content.
  • Ability to travel to member sites. Must possess reliable transportation.
  • Work individually and as part of a team.
  • Space for a home office with internet connectivity.
  • Work collaboratively with all members of the team, members, and partners.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, assertive, and self-motivated requiring little supervision to complete tasks.
