Job Summary

The Grants Manager will be responsible for grant writing, research, and management. This role will also serve as the Executive Assistant to the CEO and serve as the Board Liaison for the Board of Directors.

Job Responsibilities

Grant Writing & Management

  • Maintain the grant calendar, alerting the Development Director & CEO of upcoming deadlines.
  • Use Raiser’s Edge NXT to manage all grant opportunities and store all grant and report documents
  • Write & submit all grants and reports and communicate with funders as needed.
  • Coordinate with the Development Director, CEO, Residential Program Director, and other department  Directors regarding funding needs.
  • Conduct ongoing research of local, state, and national funding opportunities
  • Conduct ongoing research of national, state, and local data related to trafficking, prostitution, and addiction.
  •  Attend local networking events/training with funders, other grants/fundraising professionals, as requested.
  •  Departmental Liaison and Reporting Data Management
  • Meet regularly with program team, education team, global team, etc. to gather information about current activities/initiatives and identify potential areas for funding needs
  • Assist Residential Program Director, Education & Outreach, Global, and PP&A director, etc. in developing robust data keeping methods and reporting on grant outcomes.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Policy, English, Social Work, etc.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in grant writing and/or marketing with proven success.
  • Experience in writing, reporting, and managing government grants and/or communication effectively about them.
  • Social awareness and emotional intelligence to navigate complex and sensitive topics.
  • Experience and heart for working in non-profit spaces and a trauma-informed care setting.
  • Should be a proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently. Need strong ability to set priorities and solve problems as well as adhere to stringent deadlines.
  • Technically adept and experienced with online tools and systems including funding databases, government and grant portals, Blackbaud products or other CRMs, Microsoft and Google products, etc.
