Job Summary

Mercy Community Healthcare has an immediate opening for an accomplished, polished Grant Writer who can help our Christian organization grow through grants and make a positive difference in the lives of others.  

Summary: This position will be responsible for writing coherent, organized and compelling grant proposals, and applying specific knowledge of fundraising methods and plans to ensure the organization meets their income goals through both grant proposals and other fundraising projects, and relationships with key stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Develop and implement the overall grant writing strategy. Write, submit and track grant proposals. Create the annual grant funding report and provide tracking reports and data, as needed, for leaders.

Develop relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders and fundraisers to identify grant writing and fund-raising opportunities, arrange site visits/tours, verify information, clarify issues, and answer questions.

Provide promotional materials, including newsletters, flyers, scopes of service, etc. to organizations, donors, and volunteers to positively promote Mercy’s mission.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in creative writing or related field required.

Experience: 3+ years grant writing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be proficient with measuring and reaching income goals. Must be proficient with MS Office, including Publisher, Word and Excel. Working knowledge of other Grant Writing platforms preferred. Must have excellent knowledge of fundraising information sources.
