Job Summary

Program Description:

AMEND Together is a primary prevention initiative dedicated to ending violence against women and girls by engaging men and boys to be a part of the solution. We seek to challenge the culture that supports violence, cultivate healthy masculinity, and change the future for women and girls. Help us make Nashville the safest city in the nation for women and girls.

AMEND partners with schools across Nashville to provide enrichment programming focused on positive relationships, healthy development, social-emotional learning, and pro-social peer connections for boys ages 7-18.

The AMEND “Good Guy Project” is a way for young men who are aligned with the mission of AMEND to influence the next generation of boys. The Good Guy Project provides training and support to a cohort of young men to lead our weekly, healthy development workshops for elementary school groups of up to 20 boys. Good Guy Project participants will receive 10 hours of training in the basics of youth facilitation, the AMEND elementary school curriculum, how to raise healthy boys, and more.

Internship Description:

Assist AMEND Together staff in delivering high quality programming to elementary school boys in Metro Nashville Public Schools. Engage students in compassionate, team-oriented, and meaningful curriculum-based activities in a semester-long cohort or “club” environment. The goal of facilitation is to increase boys’ prosocial skills and help ground their development in practices that avoid high-risk behaviors such as violence.
