Job Summary

The Program Manager is responsible for providing management, and operational guidance to Thistle Farms Global Shared Trade Programs and Shared Trade Partners under the direction of the Global Director. The Program Manager will ensure best practices in international development work to support the goals of the Shared Trade Program and Thistle Farms. In addition, this position will be responsible for ensuring program quality, including the coherence of programming and implementation of Thistle Farms principles.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective program quality, accountability, planning, timely implementation, and management.
  • Provide management to Shared Trade Partners to increase scale and sustainability within multiple programs.
  • Monitor and evaluate programs before, during and after their implementation.
  • Work with Global Director to steward Shared Trade Program funds and budget annually.
  • Report quarterly on program evaluations to the Department Director and Global Advisory Council.
  • Conduct end of year surveys and information gathering from shared trade partners
  • Create the annual report from program evaluations and end of year surveys from Shared Trade Partners.
  • Work with Global Buyer when product development projects move to a finished product for Global Retail to sell.
  • Schedule and coordinate Initiative Program site visits, 2-4 times a year with The president of Thistle Farms.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of international development and humanitarian programming experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • International business development experience
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player who demonstrates leadership and is able to support staff and is also able to work in a changeable situation in a sensitive and participatory manner.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills including the ability to build and manage complex and diverse stakeholder relationships and develop harmonious teams in a cross-cultural context.
  • Proven program management experience and management of teams and budgets.
  • Ability to produce high-quality work and balance competing priorities within demanding timeframes.
  • Excellent understanding of international humanitarian principles and standards, including conflict resolution and gender-sensitive programming methodologies.
