Job Summary
The Retail Buyer Assistant will assist with all aspects of buying Global and Merchandise Finished Goods for Thistle Farms Global. This position is responsible for administrative tasks that include but is not limited to: photoshoots, inventory control, product creation in systems, and product maintenance in systems (Shopify, Skubana, topshelf). This person will report to the Director of Global & Finished Goods Buyer and The Director of Global Shared Trade. This role will carry out the objective to meet sales goals that promote our Global Partners, and compliments our internal line of body/home products.
Job Responsibilities
● Research, source and help select global and lifestyle products for our storefront and online retail shops.
● Assist with project details when working with Global Partners on the development of custom products for the Thistle Farms line.
● Ensure quality control and order accuracy with logistics and customer service.
● Assist in Training sales staff (storefront and events) and logistics team on product knowledge.
● Liaising with customer service, logistics, and marketing on product quality control
● Pull seasonal sales reports
● Responsible for internal system updating: assist in product creation and management within Shopify, Topshelf & Skubana
● Working with the buyer and marketing department to assist with photoshoots as well as integrate global/lifestyle products into seasonal marketing, email, and social media campaigns.
Qualifications
● Retail sales experience required.
● Computer literate and skilled in learning new programs and system management software
● Interest in current product trends with an ability to identify products that will appeal to the Thistle Farms customer demographic.
● Interest in global politics and development.
● Ability to quickly learn inventory management systems; experience w/ Shopify, Skubana, or topshelf are a plus
● Proficiency in excel/google sheets
● Creativity and interest in product development
● Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
● Can be led by a caring and direct leader and can take direction well and complete tasks on time
● Can stay focused on detailed job responsibilities
● Has a vision to support women through economic freedom around the world
