Job Summary

Consistent with the Christian mission and vision of the YMCA of Middle TN, and in cooperation with other YMCA staff, under the direction of the District Executive Director, the Full Circle Program Director has full responsibility of overseeing overall management and development of the Full Circle program at the Brentwood and Donelson YMCAs. The Full Circle Program Director is also responsible for overseeing all safety-related operations including training, certifications, and maintaining all safety procedures and equipment. Other responsibilities include income production, expense control, staff training, program development, tracking outcomes when appropriate, working with Sponsored Programs regarding grants, facility management, and philanthropy.

  • Create a caring, friendly, fun, safe environment that provides opportunities for staff and members to connect, develop relationships, and achieve their goals through YMCA membership
  • Represent the YMCA with area organizations, community leaders, businesses and other interested persons in the community for the purpose of building and/or maintaining collaborative relationships that strengthen programs
  • Establish new program activities and expand programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans; direct and supervise program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives; compile program statistics, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of – and participation in – programs in relation to the program’s purpose and specific goals
  • Serve on the Full Circle Program Development Task Force
  • Assist in the marketing and distribution of program information, organize and schedule program registrations, review and process program scholarship applications
  • Participate in special events, activities and meetings as necessary, including staff meetings, trainings, and assigned committees; assist other staff with special programming activities and special events
  • Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule and direct staff and volunteers as needed
  • Develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals
  • Prepare annual program budgets and monitor departmental budgets as assigned to ensure budgetary goals are met
  • Prepare and submit monthly program reports, budgetary information, and funding requests in a timely manner to appropriate staff
  • Participate as a key staff leader in the Annual Giving Campaign by telling YMCA story and by recruiting, leading and supervising volunteers and securing charitable donations
  • Perform assigned “Manager on Duty” and other assigned responsibilities as part of the Center’s leadership team
  • Serve on Association Cabinets and Task Forces as deemed appropriate by supervisor
  • Work as part of the management team to serve our members and take an active role in new member recruitment

Program Functions – Full Circle

  • Develop, plan and implement activities for participants with diverse abilities ages three and up, building them in Spirit, Mind and Body
  • Develop and organize Full Circle sports leagues including, but not limited to, soccer, basketball, kickball, and softball
  • Build positive relationships and provide support to parents
  • Recruit and provide technical and educational skills to volunteers
  • Assist in the proper maintenance of facilities/equipment and the safety of related program equipment
  • Assist with Full Circle administrative duties including record keeping and gathering grant data
  • Staff lead for Full Circle Committee
  • In coordination with supervisor, provide support for other Full Circle locations, when deemed appropriate and necessary
  • In coordination with supervisor, identify opportunities for growth and expansion of Full Circle within the current YMCA of Middle Tennessee service area

Superior supervisory skills and an enthusiastic personality with the ability to inspire and motivate staff, volunteers, members and participants to create a culture of service within our Centers

Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community

  • Must present a professional image and possess conflict resolution skills, and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative
  • Must be highly organized with the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Four-year college degree or comparable work experience
  • Substantial experience in relationship development, staff hiring, training and leadership and fiscal management
  • YMCA experience in membership and in administration and management of relevant YMCA programs
