Job Summary

If you are interested in a job that truly impacts thousands of people per week by providing fresh, nutritious groceries to households in need, this might be the role for you! We are searching for a highly motivated, responsible individual to serve as our Food Distribution Program Driver. Our Mobile Food Distribution Program currently serves over 3,000 households per month with almost $1,000,000 worth of fresh groceries annually. We partner with several area grocery stores, wholesalers, and restaurants to complete 23 food pickups per week that provide groceries for 11 Mobile Food Distribution sites. Dream Streets is looking to add to our Food Distribution team by hiring a qualified, licensed driver to take over the majority of our food pick-up routes to stores located in West, North, and South Nashville.

Job Responsibilities

Program Responsibilities

  • Complete all assigned food distribution pickups throughout Davidson County and deliver food donations to appropriate locations as indicated by the weekly schedule
  • Maintain appropriate state driver’s license requirements with no outstanding violations present on record
  • Assist at Mobile Food Distribution sites as needed by the Program Director or onsite staff/lead volunteer
  • Feel comfortable serving as a lead figure for program volunteers, providing a welcoming environment and enriching experience conducive to our organization’s values
  • Help maintain trucks in working order, relay any necessary maintenance needs and/or issues to the Operations Manager

Weekly Sample Schedule/Working Hours:

  • Mondays: 8:00- noon
  • Tuesdays: OFF
  • Wednesdays: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. 
  • Thursdays: 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. 
  • Fridays: OFF
  • Saturdays: 1- 4 p.m. 

Responsibilities to the team:

  • Conduct yourself in a manner consistent with our statement of faith and our staff values 
  • Maintain regular working hours as determined by ongoing Mobile Food Distribution needs
