Job Summary
The Refuge Center for Counseling’s mission is to offer affordable, professional counseling services in order to empower, educate and support individuals, couples and families.
Purpose of the Position: To support the vision and staff of The Refuge Center by managing and reporting the financials of the organization.
Job Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for:
- Accounts Receivables-Create billing statements for Third Party Payers and Collaborative partners, reconciling daily revenue reports.
- Accounts Payable-Payment of vendors and contract therapists; preparation and delivery of 1099s.
- Payroll-Submitting payroll information to payroll company and verifying its accuracy.
- Donor Management-Manage and record donor data in donor database to ensure accurate donor records, working closely with development staff.
Financial Reporting-work with an outside accounting firm for monthly review of financials, prepare monthly financial reports to be presented to the Board of Directors; work with development staff to ensure accurate donation reporting.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; college level accounting classes or accounting degree preferred.
- 2+ years bookkeeping/accounting experience
- Demonstrated proficiency with Office products, including Excel and Word.
- Experience with accounting software required; experience with QuickBooks preferred.
- Non-profit experience is a plus.
- Strong communication skills.
