Job Summary

Objective:        To administer the finance and business objectives of the Center for Youth Ministry Training

Supervision:    The Finance Director reports to Executive Director and to the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors

Hours/Compensation: 20 hours per week, Scheduling is flexible

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee week-to-week financial functions including payroll, invoicing, bills, and deposits
  • Sends monthly and quarterly reports to Finance Committee, staff, and Exec. Director
  • Reconcile bank, credit card, and other financial statements
  • Ensures fiscal policies and procedures are followed
  • Works with auditor to provide needed materials annually
  • Work with Executive Director on budget development
  • Manage insurance paperwork for Worker’s Comp and Liability; work with insurance broker to maintain coverage
  • Manage all TN Secretary of State paperwork, including renewal of Charitable Solicitations Registration, filing of Annual Report
  • Maintain tax exempt status and certificates.
  • Manage corporate accounts at stores and businesses
  • Process reimbursement requests for staff and graduate residents
  • Ensure state agents and employment paperwork for all states where employees work
  • End of year fiscal year reports
  • Create financial reports for major grants
  • Works with Development Director on recording and reconciling donor pledges
  • Purchase office supplies; keeps supply closet organized
  • Work with copier company
  • Manage personnel employment files; set up new employees in payroll
  • Track paid time off (Vacation and Personal days)
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of financial accounting experience
  • Non-profit experience is not a requirement but a plus
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn QuickBooks Accounting Software
  • Strong verbal and written persuasive communication skills

Notes: CYMT uses Paylocity for payroll and HR administrative functions and QuickBooks for Non-Profits for accounting purposes.  Hours are flexible and adjustable to meet needs of CYMT and employee.

Benefits

The Finance Director position is PT and therefore not eligible for company benefits.  The position does come with 7.5 days of paid vacation and 6 personal days.
