Job Summary

We want you because you like detail (and numbers!), you like touching every part of an organization and you are seeking a position in which to learn and grow.

Nashville Public Radio is a small organization that is headed toward bigger and better: increased revenue, more employees and expansive community engagement. In this new position, you will work closely with our CFO and Controller in budgeting, account payables, accounts receivables and employee benefits. In addition, you will work across all departments assisting in all processes tied to hiring, recruitment, employee on-boarding and benefits.  You must like detail and are driven by being organized.  You also need to be able to juggle many tasks, not only throughout the day but throughout each hour! You must enjoy engaging with people: outgoing, approachable, and positive.  Most importantly, you must be self-motivated; in other words, you like to figure things out!  When you don’t have something to do, you find something else to take on! In this new role, you will work closely with all internal departments but also interact with external vendors.

Job Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities:

Improving and streamlining the HR functions of organization from the ground up. Knowledge of Employment Compliance and effective communication to employees and benefit providers is required. Maintaining employment files and assisting the leadership team with employee relations is crucial.

Managing Accounts Payable processes from invoice entry to researching and resolving any issues related to paying vendors in an accurate and timely manner. You will work directly with the Controller and CFO to ensure that budget and cash flow projections are maintained.

Processing Payroll for a growing staff and reconciling bank and investment accounts on a regular basis is expected. You will serve as backup for the Accounts Receivable Coordinator.

Supporting on-going station operations. You will serve as an integral member of the Administration team to ensure all reports are filed on time, insurance policies are renewed, employee benefits are maintained, office equipment leases and other financial commitments are satisfied. General clerical tasks to assist the department are expected. Assisting with fund-raising efforts and participating in station-wide events is part of the fun.
