Job Summary

This position provides advocacy, crisis support, and case management services to child victims and their supportive family members.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide information about the center and its services to parents/caregivers of children presenting for services
  • Assist non-offending parents in accessing needed resources, including applying for Victims Compensation
  • Provide crisis intervention and safety planning to parents/caregivers of children presenting for services
  • Provide on-going support to non-offending parents/caregivers through the investigative and healing process
  • Maintain documentation of all client and agency contact
  • Manage the clinical waiting list for children needing therapy
  • Communicate with other professionals involved with the client/case as necessary and appropriate
  • Attend Child Protective Investigative Team case reviews with relevant information, such as client progress and safety concerns
  • Track cases and enter information into the case tracking system until final adjudication and/or closed to services
  • Greet children and clients who come to the NCA for services
  • Supervise children in the waiting area as needed
  • Gather and tabulate statistics on all clients referred to the NCA for reports to funding sources and to be used in securing funding

Qualifications

College degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, child development or a related field and at least two years work experience with children and families are required. Must have demonstrated knowledge of child abuse and neglect and child development. Must be able to function harmoniously as a member of a multidisciplinary team and be sensitive to cultural/ethnic differences. Computer skills will basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook – Bilingual candidate preferred.
