Job Summary
Serves one school grouping with research-based best practices, direct assistance to school staff and families. Plans strategically with district leaders and school staff to develop goals based on needs at the school and community level. Serves on special projects and committees to provide input on challenges to success in family engagement.
Job Responsibilities
Job Duty/Resp. 1: Develops, coordinates, and provides high quality training sessions and workshops to families based on needs assessments and the goals of schools and the schools’ grouping.
Job Duty/Resp. 2: Develops and provides high quality training sessions and workshops to school staff to support capacity building for effective family-school partnerships
Job Duty/Resp. 3: Creates, supports and participates in parent leadership activities. Attends and assists with school events to promote family and community programs.
Job Duty/Resp. 4: Meets regularly with school staff and leadership to share expertise; links academic goals with family programs; coordinates events and opportunities; and establishes and maintains communications between families, community partners, schools, and other MNPS departments about events, programs, classes, and opportunities
Job Duty/Resp. 5: Collaborates with various community partners to establish and or maintain effective family school partnerships
Job Duty/Resp. 6: Provides department’s leadership information by collecting and monitoring data and communicating concerns about challenges to success in parent and community engagement
Job Duty/Resp. 7: Coordinates with MNPS departments to ensure necessary services are provided for families
Job Duty/Resp. 8: Expands and enhances partnerships with community based organizations in support of school goals and needs
Qualifications
Education (training/degree): Required minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Public Administration, Social Work, or related field; or equivalent education and/or professional related experience Preferred: Click here to enter text.
Experience Requirements: Requires 2 years’ related experience which includes experience in leading new initiatives in the area of education, public administration, community development, or related field with proven success. More specific degree, certification, and experience requirements will be included in the position announcement as vacancies occur.
