Mercy Community Healthcare is looking for a Facilities Maintenance Assistant to help ensure our facility looks clean, presentable, and inviting at all times while also working with various vendors and contractors on renovation projects.

Job Responsibilities

What Is This Job All About?

  • Cleans, services, and performs minor repairs of the building areas for all Mercy Community Healthcare facilities, ensuring safety, neatness, and cleanliness both inside and outside.
  • Responds to spills, leaks, and biohazard cleanup as required by departments.
  • Restock dispenser paper goods, hand soap/hand sanitizer in all locations.
  • Assists with repair and renovation projects with various vendors or contractors.
  • Provides required facility maintenance/cleaning reports as directed.
  • Supports all policies, OSHA rules, health and safety regulations, and guidelines.
  • Performs some mail room functions – Receives, logs, and distributes incoming mail and deliveries to various departments. Assists in the shipping of any outbound packages.
  • Assists with transporting small equipment/tools between departments to assist with staff workspace relocation, the setup of facilities for meetings, conferences, events, etc.

Qualifications

What We Need from You:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year experience as a facilities maintenance person, medical janitorial staff or similar service preferred but not required.
  • Organizational skills including task prioritization and time management.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Provide outstanding customer service while handling multiple projects at the same time.
  • Consistent dependability and personal initiative
