Job Summary

Nashville Public Television (NPT) seeks an Executive Producer to oversee and direct all of NPT’s local broadcast content, providing editorial oversight for all productions. Hands-on experience in television and/or digital production is a requirement for this position.

Job Responsibilities

Conceptualizes, creates, plans, and budgets available resources to produce long and short form programs, program segments, and other production projects. Directs the creative activity of NPT Producers and leads them in the process of content creation from concept to broadcast. Works collaboratively with Senior Management, Digital, Programming and Community Engagement staff to create and develop concepts for new productions. Prepares proposals, treatments and scripts.

Develops and determines timelines and all technical requirements necessary to effectively implement production projects. Provides creative oversight for all local broadcast content projects and works closely with NPT Producers to ensure high quality productions. Has a familiarity with the ethics and practices of public media and journalism, as well as a commitment to and knowledge of the laws and policies affecting its practice.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree. Five years of increasingly responsible experiences in television production involving studio, remote, field production, and post production activities. Proven track record of working collaboratively, managing production staff and overseeing budgets. Demonstrated creativity, writing skills, leadership, supervisory skills and abilities. Computer literate.
