Job Summary
The Tennessee Academy of Family Physicians (TNAFP) is seeking a forward-thinking Executive Director. The TNAFP is a 501(c)6 non-profit association formed in 1948 located in Brentwood, Tennessee, with a membership of 2,400 family physicians, family medicine residents and medical students.
A successful candidate will be a natural relationship builder and ideally someone who is already connected to the healthcare industry and/or non-profit world. As the public face of the TNAFP, the Executive Director must have an engaging, yet diplomatic approach and be passionate about assisting Family Physicians and in cultivating relationships with family medicine residents and medical students. The position requires a transparent, collaborative leader with a proven track record of building member engagement, cultivating shared goals, maintaining partner relationships, and positioning an organization for relevance and sustainability in both the short- and long-term.
Job Responsibilities
DUTIES:
The Executive Director’s responsibilities include:
- day-to-day operations of the TNAFP and its 2 employees;
- oversight of the TNAFP many programs and services;
- maintenance, of the TNAFP office;
- management of financial records;
- maintaining all official records including minutes, financial reports and tax returns;
- planning and execution of annual meetings and advocacy efforts;
- occasional evening/weekend work; estimated 25-30 days of travel per year;
- serving as Executive Vice President and Secretary-Treasurer of the TNAFP Foundation a 501(c)3 non-profit association.

Qualifications
Experience, Skills and Qualifications
Qualified candidates will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field.
- minimum of five years of senior level management experience in a non-profit and/or healthcare setting is but could be waived for the appropriate candidate.
- strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- the ability to grow membership and implement innovative programs and services.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
The Tennessee Academy of Family Physicians offers a team-based work environment and a salary commensurate with experience. There is also an attractive benefits package, including premium health insurance, a retirement plan, along with PTO, and holiday benefits. The position is on site; potential exists for some remote work.
