Tennessee Resettlement Aid

Executive Director

Tennessee Resettlement Aid

Apply

Job Summary

Tennessee Resettlement Aid is seeking a compassionate, experienced individual with strong leadership and managerial skills to plan and execute the mission of this front-line refugee and immigrant aid organization, as well as build and sustain local, state, and national relationships with donors and organizations in the refugee service ecosystem.

TRA, a 501(c3) tax-exempt organization, was formed three years ago to assist with fundamental gaps in basic assistance for Afghan refugees being resettled in Middle Tennessee by federal agencies in partnership with local non-profits. TRA founders saw the need for emergency supplemental food, diapers, medicine, housing, home goods, etc. that were essential to sustain refugee housing, employment, and integration. TRA has nimbly filled these essential gaps by working hand-in-hand with refugee families in the Afghan, Congolese, Egyptian, and Turkish communities.

This scrappy organization has one full-time employee and 2 part-time employees. TRA is supported by a committed and well-connected board of directors. TRA has a $150,000 annual operating budget, funded through individual donors and foundations.

The Executive Director (ED) has full responsibility for planning and executing the long-range goals of the organization, as determined by the Board of Directors.

The successful candidate will be able to assume the role on or about December 1, 2024. The current ED will work closely with the new ED to ensure a smooth transition process.
