Job Summary

NAHT is seeking an organized, engaged, and highly detailed Executive Assistant to assist and support the Executive Director in the areas of Communication, IT, Scheduling, Editing, Development and other responsibilities to further the mission of NAHT from the Executive office

Job Responsibilities

  • Schedule meetings for Executive Director (ED) and coordinate ED and facility calendars
  • Make and return phone calls with warmth and professionalism on behalf of ED to prospective volunteers, media, board members, donors, partner organizations, and other stakeholders
  • Read and prepare emails as directed by ED with high level of professionalism
  • Run reports and prepare packets for Board meetings and Development opportunities
  • Create and edit Power Point presentations, donor letters, and other materials to support Ed in Development activities
  • Write thank-you letters on behalf of ED and NAHT to all who give their time and resources
  •  Learn and utilize Apricot, case management software, and Little Green Light, donor software to support the running of relevant reports for presentations and to assist the ED in other functions related to software utilization
  • Step in as hostess for tours when ED is not available
  • Assist with planning and executing for Donor events
  • Think ahead on all fronts preparing necessary documents, spotting potential scheduling conflicts and enabling the Executive office to run smoothly

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • 4 Year College degree
  • Experience – 3 – 5 years of related work experience supporting, organizing and executing in a business or non-profit setting. Prior experience as an Executive Assistant or experience in a non-profit is a plus.

  • Ability to work effectively in Microsoft Office, inclusive of Excel and Power Point
  • Ability to create Power Point presentations
  • Professional experience and aptitude in learning and utilizing different software and databases
  • Exceedingly well-organized with the ability and experience to prioritize, manage and complete work independently and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written skills across all platforms of communication, inclusive of editing ability and professional writing skills
  • Commitment to respectful and equitable engagement with diverse and vulnerable staff, members, organizations, and other stakeholders
  • Alignment with the mission of NAHT and the commitment to support growth
  • Proven ability to retain confidentiality
