Job Summary

The TDA Events & Education Manager works with staff and volunteers to coordinate live and virtual educational programs and association events throughout the year including the annual meeting. The Events and Education Manager is responsible for the successful planning, implementation, and execution of the TDA’s programs and events for dentists, dental team members and corporate partners.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop annual plan of educational offerings for members at both live and virtual events.
  • Work with Communication Manager to prepare and distribute event marketing materials.
  • Work closely with Executive Director on sponsorship and exhibit sales. Serves as a main organizational contact for corporate partners.
  • Coordinate with hotel and other meeting vendors to implement meeting plans.
  • Provide on-site management of conferences and events.
  • Act as staff liaison to the Committee on Annual Session including keeping minutes, distributing action items and follow-up.
  • Plan and produce other TDA-sponsored meetings, webinars, and independent study courses.
  • Distribute, collect speaker agreements and materials. Work with speakers on meeting and travel arrangements.
  • Create, distribute, and collect course evaluations.
  • Responsible for CERP accreditation and recognition.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS with a minimum of 3 years of experience in meeting planning or related job.
  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices in event planning and meeting management.
  • Ability to work well independently and collaborate with a team.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to solve problems and comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills. Must be able to effectively interact with members, staff, and external contacts.
  • Business writing skills with commitment to accuracy.
  • Demonstrated sound business judgement and ability to work within a budget.
  • Able to attend meetings and events occasionally outside of regular business hours. Some travel.
  • Comfortable with technology and learning new systems.
  • Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) designation a plus.
