Objectives:

The Event Security Supervisor supports the front of house operations in provide a positive guest experience and to ensure patron and employee safety. Working closely across TPAC departments and with external entities, this position will supervise our event operations team that is positive, engaging, contemporary, supportive of the arts community, and representative of TPAC’s core values. This position is instrumental in supporting TPAC and its management of theatrical and event spaces and its diverse programing calendar.

Job Responsibilities

1.) Ability to assist with departmental payroll functions such as coding labor and accurate timekeeping for each event assigned.

2.)Provides supervision and oversight of all armed, and unarmed security personnel and functions. This includes event security for Andrew Jackson Hall, James K. Polk Theater, Andrew Johnson Theater, and War Memorial Auditorium.

3.) Assists the department to increase the safety and security of patrons and employees attending or working events.

4.) Provide security for money escorts within the facility.

5.) Provide supervision of security officers or third-party security vendors for set-up and tear-down of Magnetometers, bag check or other security related needs for events assigned.

6.) Available to work a variety of 4 – 8-hour shifts that will include days, nights, weekends and some holidays to cover Broadway shows, rentals, internal/external events, & TPAC Education events.

7.) Conduct pre-event and post-event briefings including event details, special requirements and other related communications for unarmed and armed security staff.

8.) Assist with creating and facilitating productive, interactive and engaging training programs for onboarding and annual training of department staff.

9.) Provide leadership while working as a positive, motivated team member, fostering helpful and cooperative conduct, and willingness to learn and work with others.

10.) A “can do” service attitude, consistently providing excellent service to guests, staff, volunteers and clients. Maintaining the highest level of professionalism and pro-active work ethic.

The responsibilities listed above are not all inclusive. Other related duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

Required: 2 – 4 years of supervisory experience.  Ability to speak, read and write English fluently. Skilled in customer relations, communications and problem solving in a lively environment. Possess an unarmed Security license or ability to obtain. Excellent verbal, written communication, and documentation skills

Highly Preferred: Understanding of operational characteristics of events, including crowd management. Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)

Preferred: Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Software and Services Used: Microsoft Office Suite, Tessitura, VenueOps, ADP Workforce and Advance Staff Scheduler

Frequent Functions and Working Conditions:

Frequent: Working in a venue/theater environment. Ascending/Descending Stairs, Standing/Being Stationary for long periods of time. Working in the dark. Working with flashing lights in a loud environment. Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends 

Occasional Functions: Lifting/Moves/Transports 25 lbs., Pushing/Pulling, Bending/Stooping. Ability to work outside in all weather conditions including seasonably hot or cold temperatures.
