OBJECTIVE

 The Education Programs Manager provides administrative and program-specific management for the Disney Musicals in Schools (DMIS) Program, CAMP TPAC, Arts Adventures, TPAC InsideOut, and a year-round schedule of arts engagement activities for youth and community. 

This position works within the Inclusive Arts division and interdepartmentally to contribute to program success with an emphasis on communicating with schools, faculty, and community members, maintaining event registration and participation records, planning and scheduling, and coordinating thoughtful and engaging events for program participants.

Job Responsibilities

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Contributes to planning, implementation, management, and assessment of Disney Musicals in Schools including:

  • Annual DMIS application and selection process  
  • Liaison with teaching artists and school teams
  • Event Coordination of schools’ orientation, teacher and teaching artist professional development (PD) workshops, and Student Share Celebration
  • Oversee and maintain teaching artist compensation processes and record-keeping
  • Gather information for reporting including stats for TPAC Report Cards, grant fulfillment, and end-of-year education reports

Contributes to implementation, management, and assessment of Camp TPAC and Arts Adventures including: 

  • Logistical planning/event management for internal and external events
  • Oversee and maintain registration, financial records, reporting, and evaluations
  • Create and update season reports
  • Communication with event leaders and participants
  • Registration and communication with participants before, during, and after events
  • On-site logistics
  • Advance planning with teaching artists and community partners
  • Create, administer, and collect program surveys and evaluations.

  • Communication with community partners, event leaders, and participants
  • Registration and communication with participants before, during, and after events
  • On-site logistics
  • Advance planning with arts organizations and community partners
  • Create, administer, and collect program surveys and evaluations. 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works with TPAC Marketing to create, administer, and evaluate email marketing campaigns for DMIS, Camp TPAC, Arts Adventures, InsideOut, and other community events. 
  • Manages and supports aspects of planning, logistics, and oversight of other Education and Community Engagement programs, as needed.
  • Works with others throughout the organization to implement and exemplify policies as part of TPAC’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, access, and equity.
  • Inspires a collaborative work environment that motivates staff and cultivates productive relationships within the education team and throughout the organization.  
  • Maintains awareness of the TPAC budget designated for funding programs associated with this position’s responsibilities.

Qualifications

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year College or University and two to five years of related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to collaborate with colleagues, business partners, and community members. Strong organizational and financial skills. Excellent verbal and written communication. Innovation, creative direction, and ability to work independently and with a team. Passion for the performing arts and a belief in the importance of arts education and arts access. The ability to motivate and work with teaching artists and educators. Data gathering and reporting. 
  • Preferred: Education, arts, production, and events background.
  • Encouraged: Bilingual capability.

SOFTWARE AND SERVICES USED

Microsoft Office Suite, Tessitura, UltraCamp, Zoom, Momentus Technologies.

FREQUENT FUNCTIONS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Frequent Functions: Working in an office environment, within school communities, public events, and virtual meetings/events. Comfort with navigating theater spaces including backstage areas. Nights and weekends are required for events and workshops, and sometimes for teaching artist and educator communications. Off-site travel to schools in Nashville and Middle Tennessee.
  • Occasional Functions: Out-of-state travel. Lifting 30 pounds or less.
  • First Six Months: Orientation about TPAC’s mission, programs, and policies. Orientation for Disney Musicals in Schools, Camp TPAC, Arts Adventures, and TPAC Inside Out. Coordinating teaching artist meetings and schedules. Visiting participating schools to monitor the process. Plan and administer InsideOut and Community Engagement events. Tours of key theater and public spaces as available. Weekly meetings with the Education department, and as-needed meetings with other departments.
