Job Summary

This team member oversees all professional development programs offered by the association. This includes in-person, virtual and hybrid formats. Approximately 700 total class hours annually with 600 CE hours and over 5,500 students. Plans and organizes all educational opportunities; including scheduling instructors, oversite of registration and the reporting of continuing education credits to the Tennessee Real Estate Commission. The Education Director manages education department staff and serves as staff liaison to the Professional Development Committee.

Job Responsibilities

o Plan annual calendar of educational opportunities, including in-person and virtual formats.
o Seek and gain approval of continuing education credits from Tennessee Real Estate Commission (TREC) when applicable.
o Organize courses to meet the members needs for licensure and practice.
o Create an inclusive environment for members and seek instructor and course diversity.
o Stay current on licensing rules, requirements and renewal procedures from TREC and serve as the key contact to that organization.
o Develop and oversee professional development marketing plan in collaboration with the Director of Communications and Marketing, including scheduling and finalization of course offerings, curriculum summary for placement on the website and for registration materials.
o Oversee food and beverage service and room set up for each class.
o Arrive before and stay beyond regular office hours as needed to prepare for classes.
o Hire and serve as the key contact for all instructors and keep a list of backup instructors for emergencies. Work with Controller to pay instructors and process enrollment fees.
o Confirm and coordinate class sponsorships in collaboration with Sponsorship Manager.
o Identify authors for new curriculum development and write or creates material, where appropriate.
o Create and disseminate course evaluations and share results with instructors and the Professional Development Committee to improve future programs.
o In coordination with other Education Department staff, register members for classes and answer questions about CE/license renewal requirements, send reminders and certificates of completion for classes, and report completed classes and attendance records to TREC.
o Attend all programs and work with other staff to assist with registration, event preparation and logistics.
o Prepare monthly education report and annual education budget and revenue goal report, monitor budget monthly and provide reports to the Controller, Professional Development Committee and Board of Directors.
o Participate in staff leadership as a director and in annual strategic planning conversations.
o Oversee education center rental to members and third parties.   

Qualifications

Greater Nashville REALTORS® is seeking an individual with a minimum of five years’ experience in professional development planning and implementation. Experience with real estate education and Tennessee Real Estate Commission rules is desirable. Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university recommended. Technologically savvy and comfortable with virtual learning platforms and delivery, as well as audio visual equipment. Excellent people skills to host, assist and welcome members. Flexible and able to multitask.
