Job Summary
The Economic Development Research & Project Coordinator will focus on tracking multiple categories of data (commercial, residential, hotel, investment, development projects, investment) and providing timely information throughout the year for quarterly market reports, residential reports, presentations, newsletter data, specialized packages of information for inquiries and prospects, and other, as needed. This position will aid the VP of Economic Development in managing multiple projects throughout the year requiring proactive relationship-building with key information groups and procuring data that informs the decision-making of stakeholders for the continued growth of downtown. The Economic Development Research Coordinator must be the foremost authority in key downtown data.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the development of quarterly research reports and further data analysis in partnership with local organizations, asset managers, business and property owners, residential property managers, et al. Key Metric: Timely release of all reports yearly.
- Utilize economic data from multiple sources including CoStar, Placer.AI, GNAA, and other data-driven organizations to provide insights into economic trends, demographic changes, and market opportunities to guide organization work plans, policy recommendations, and business decisions. Key Metric: Develop proficiency with each data platform and relationships with data contact sources to consistently provide timely information.
- Led the maintenance and improvement of the organizational CRM database, assisting with the development of new database capacity and functionality, data input, and extraction. Regular maintenance of properties (parcels, tenants, asset managers, etc.), business and contacts, and all other downtown stakeholders. Key Metric: A yearly audit of the database shows up-to-date information.
- Support the VP of Economic Development on annual projects.
- Support other staff members with research information, as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent amount of experience, knowledge, and skills that will enable you to perform the tasks of the job proficiently.
- 2-4 years of professional experience.
- Familiarity with commercial real estate and demographic data sources is preferred.
- Strong project management and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in tools like Excel, CRM, CoStar, and Placer.AI is a plus.
- Ability to communicate with a diverse audience including board members, staff, downtown employees, and community and business leaders.
- Ability to be a thoughtful and collaborative colleague.
- Ability and desire to take initiative.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
